July 2015: Abba Father, Transform Me by the Power of Your Spirit.

As Christians, we might have assumed that we are transformed by the confession of our sins and the acceptance of Christ Jesus but this is actually the beginning of the process. Transformation is not what we can attain by our efforts but it is what we allow God to do within us to attain the full glory of the transformed and renewed man, this is the total submission to God’s will and the Holy Spirit direction and instruction to the changes required to attain that status of a transformed being. We cannot change ourselves by our own strength or meritorious works.

By Apostle Paul owns confession in Romans 7:14-24, He illustrated what dilemma we face individually, if we have to rely on ourselves for righteousness and holiness without the Spirit of God. For we often will find ourselves doing things we really don't want to do because of our fleshly nature, so we need the Spirit of God to operate within us to bring us to a greater and better purpose.

Transformation is the secret and reality of Christian life, transformation produces what Christianity is all about. Without it, one can be a genuine born again believer for years without experiencing transformation. This is the metamorphosis from the Adam man to the glory man Christ Jesus.

***Those who find me, find Life***

The transformed being works in the fullness and in the glory of Christ Jesus which can only be given by the Spirit of God as was pointed out in 2 Corinthians 3: 18 by Apostle Paul and furthermore in Romans 8: 29 -30 it is confirmed that it is God’s goal for those that He foreknew and predestined to come into this fullness of glorified status. Transformation prove God’s will is good, acceptable and perfect for the purpose of having everlasting life with Him as was intended at the time of creation which Christ affirmed in John 6: 38-40.

A fully transformed person as stated in Ephesians 3:17-18, through the spirit of Christ will be able to comprehend with the saint the breath, length, depth and height of the things of God. It should also be noted that no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God as made clear in 1 Corinthians 2: 11-12. So we must allow that Spirit to absolutely be at the forefront in order that the transformation takes place.

Taking example from nature’s transformation of the caterpillar to a butterfly, one will see that there is a distinctive change in the characteristic from one form to the other form through the stage when the caterpillar remains in its cocoon before blooming out as butterfly. So it must be for a transformed person, there must be that distinctive difference between the sinful Adam man and the transformed Christ-like man.

The cocoon period will amount to each individual ability to stay in the presence of God obeying and living by all His instructions and direction through the working of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. Bear in mind that there are incomplete metamorphosis, so to reach the full bloom, we must constantly imbibe the very nature of Christ by patiently seeking the face of God daily in everything until His nature starts shining through us. A transformed person must be the beautiful and glorious being of the former being.

***God’s Spirit inspires deeper understanding***

The baptismal power of the Holy Spirit is key to the process of transformation as pointed out in Titus 3:5, for it is the grace of God that develops the process and makes us operate in the likeness of Christ. We can prepare ourselves by preserving our bodies as the temple of God as expressed in 1 Corinthians 6:19.

***The transformed Mind Works in the Fullness of Christ Jesus***

The desire for the change must be stirred up within us through our relationship with the Father of all truth, for it is the Spirit that inspires us to have the yearning to be Christ-like. . The process of true change takes place as we are weaned from our love and worship of self, pleasure and this world; and our hearts become wholly devoted to Christ. Transformation liberates our mind from the things of the world and energise us into the spiritual likeness of God setting us free from the shackles of life. Romans 6: 3-8 gives us understanding that as we are baptised, we surrender our sinful nature to death through the immersion and we rise to begin a new life in Christ. But we must bear in mind we need to seek constant fellowship with God by the renewal of our mind as was made clear by Apostle Paul. When our desire to be holy is greater than our willingness to stay where we are, we have taken a big step toward spiritual transformation.

2 Corinthians 3:16-17 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Ephesians 4: 23-24 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

The gifting of the Holy Spirit stimulates the fruits of the Spirit that helps us in the path of transformation and we begin to have understanding of the things of God by the Spirit helping to search into all things even the deep things of God as stated in 1 Corinthians 2:10 and brings us to remembrance those things that are of God and pleasing to Him.

The process of attaining Spiritual transformation starts with the confession of sin and acceptance of Christ as our personal saviour who died as the son of God for the redemption of our sins for the purpose of reconciliation to the Father.

We must receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift to us By Jesus Christ and be submissive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit as He directs us into the things of God.

Galatians 3:27 ESV For as many as were baptised into Christ have put on Christ

We need to daily fellowship and meditation with God in Spirit and truth, for when we stay in His presence and patiently wait upon the Lord we imbibe the characteristic of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.

Renewal of the mind by daily scriptural reading taking example of Jesus reply to the tempter 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' Also in 2 Timothy 3:16 states that all scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and training in righteousness. Acts 17: 11 ……. in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Making all supplication known God through prayers, praises and worship by the Holy Spirit. (See Romans 8:26, 28)
Take Note:

2 Corinthians 3:18 … with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

1 Peter 5:10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

We press on personally to achieve the goal which the Lord has set before us knowing fully well that He who has started His good work within us is able to finish it through His glory in Christ Jesus. We love you but God love you most.
