March 2016: Walking in the Power and Authority of the Holy Spirit

It must be clear that the Holy Spirit is an important and integral part of the trinity and He is consider to be the one that implements the word of God. We will observe from the beginning of the book of Genesis that the Spirit of God was said to be hovering and God spoke the word so it came to be. (See Genesis 1:2)

Jesus at the start of His ministry was filled with the power of the Holy Spirit before he was led to the wilderness to be tempted. (Luke 4:1)

In order to walk with power and authority of the Holy Spirit there must first be a rebirth and a relationship with the Father through the acceptance of Christ as the true and only way to Him. The Holy Spirit gives us Spiritual life and all Spiritual renewal begins and ends with God, He reveals truth to us, lives within us and then enables us to respond to the truth. (See the story of Nicodemus Luke 3:1-21)

Ezekiel 36: 27 "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances

1 John 2:6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

*** Can two walk together unless they agree***

Luke 10:19 Behold I give you the authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, over all the power of the enemy.

Note: The power of the trinity lies with the Holy Spirit and He executes the word of God. When Jesus sent out the disciples, he breathe His Spirit upon them and when He was about to depart the earth He told them to tarry until they receive the power of the Holy Spirit. (Mark 6:6-12; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:1-47)

The Greek word >Dunamis translates to power which is the capability and ability to perform anything or to carry something in to effect and >Exousia translates to the right to exercise power or the ability or strength which one is endued.

The greater promise Christ offered to us as Christians is the assurance that we can walk daily in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and experience an abundant and fruitful life of purpose and adventure?

Here are some of His promises:

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.

You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

***Faith and believe are keys***

It is the gracious influence of the Holy Spirit, none of our own inclinations or desires is holy or good, "for the mind of the flesh is hostile to God's law and does not submit to it because it cannot" (Romans 8:7). The new birth is the coming into our life of the Holy Spirit to create a whole new array of desires and loves and yearnings and longings. And when these desires are stronger than the opposing desires of the flesh, then we are "walking by the Spirit." For we always act according to our strongest desires

*** "That which is born of the Spirit is spirit."***

We pray that you are empowered with authority through the revelation of God in the glory of Christ Jesus. Amen

Read the Word

Colossians 3:15-17 New King James Version (NKJV)

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Be doers of the Word

James 1: 19-22
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves

Vigil

James 1:5-6
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

March 2013: Relational Worship- Trust in the Lord

*** Whatever you Worship, soon consume you: For I Am a jealous God, Says the Lord Serve no other God beside me ***

1 Chronicles 28:9 "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Proverbs 3: 5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart. And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.…

As you seek God this season, walk into the fullness of His Joy and His abundant glory through the grace in Christ Jesus. Amen
