January 2016: Love and Forgiveness; keys to Kingdom Glory and Blessings

Note: A world devoid of love and forgiveness is a world devoid of peace, a restless soul is a soul devoid of the power of love and forgiveness. The Spirit of God cannot reside with the spirit of man that despise others, unforgiving, unloving, bitterness, strife, jealousy and abhors hatred. For the Holy Spirit is pure and simple and like a dove it cannot abhor in dirtiness or filthiness.

Ephesians 4: 32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Romans 5:8 says ". . . commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." The lost sinner living in rebellion and sin is still loved by the Lord. He loved us enough to die for us and pay our sin debt while we were sinning against Him. This shows that true biblical love is a matter of will....not of emotion. God choose to love us and His love was not based on our meriting it in any way.

1 Peter 4: 8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

"Agapao" This word is a verb used to describe God's divine love. The noun is "agape." Example is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) This is the action of totally being committed to the wellbeing of others without regard for their worthiness even unto death. That love was demonstrated by Jesus when He suffered and died for our sins. We, as Christians, are to show that unselfish love to others.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us (Psalm 103:11,12).

***His Banner over us is His Love***

Jesus Christ paid the Ultimate price of love by laying his life down that we might be reconciled to the Father and since the purpose of our fellowship is for us to align to the perfect will of the father, it is imperative that we understand the full context of love and forgiveness.
Love must radiate from the inside and bosom to an outward expressed feeling of care, understanding, sharing and concern for the wellbeing of another person. It gives rise to the propensity to forgive and letting go.

***What greater love can a man have than this to lay his life down***

Perfection is founded entirely on the love of God: “Charity is the bond of perfection (Colossians 3:14);” and perfect love of God means the complete union of our will with God’s: “The principal effect of love is so to unite the wills of those who love each other as to make them will the same things.” It follows then, that the more one unites his will with the divine will, the greater will be his love of God. Mortification, meditation, receiving Holy Communion, acts of fraternal charity are all certainly pleasing to God — but only when they are in accordance with his will. Because His desire is to enshrine love as a perfect reflection of peace, harmony and ultimate joy.

We must imbibe Matthew 5:14-16 into our lives because Christians are the lights of the world and our life in Christ must demonstrate the
understanding of love and forgiveness to humanity.

If we proclaim God’s love and we respond in love, we will actively strive to let go of hurts and come to a place of forgiveness faster. Our attitude not only points others to the love of God, it also appropriate response to what God is doing in us and it brings about healing to the very existence of relationship.

We as children and followers of Christ must willing conduct our actions with love as in Ephesians 5:1-2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling saviour.

Note: My take is that love leads to tolerance, tolerance leads to endurance, endurance leads to understanding, understanding prompts forgiveness

*** Love does not fail- 1 Corinthians 13:18***

Important: where love exist, the heart can easily forgive because we can visualise the errors and short comings of the person in the perspective of the forgiveness we have in Christ. Foreclosure and reconciliation is easily attainable when God’s wisdom is applied.

Forgiveness is a by-product of love which promotes peace and gives hope rather than war and despair. Without forgiveness, hurt grows unchecked and we recycle failure, resentment, bitterness and mistrust in our lives. It diminishes the propensity for retaliation by accepting that the decision of human life is not beyond repairs.

The person that forgive also is healed through the process of forgiving the other party.

Martin Luther King Jr states “forgiveness is a catalyst creating the atmosphere necessary for a fresh start and a new beginning”

Harmony and unity can only be fostered by the appreciation of one another and the increase of God’s Spirit within us which is derive from our constant fellowship with God. This directs our path into brotherhood and sisterhood in Christ Jesus.

As you let go of the hurts, hatred, unforgiveness, bitterness and all manner of unproductive behaviour that hindered our fellowship and joy from the Father of grace with 2015.

Come into 2016, knowing that the grace, love, peace of God awaits you to guide your footsteps into His Plans and purpose.
